Palm Cove is just north of Cairns, 20 minutes from the airport. It's a lovely spot even if it looks a bit artifical with its designer shrubs and sidewalks, and its opulent, multi-storey resorts (simpler accommodation is also available). The palms and huge melaleucas are original - the latter are the biggest I've ever seen.
Palm Cove isn't overrun by tourists, and most of them are older folks or famiies with tiny tots, so it's a quiet place. Here are a few more images. All images made with Nikon D40x, click on them to see larger files.
